Archer's labor and birth was far smoother than TJ's. After ~12 hours of light labor following a 4am water breaking, Raminta worked through 2+ hours of intense labor before getting an epidural. After a few hours of relax/recovery and some minor positioning adjustments from the OB, Archer was launched forth in a few well-orchestrated pushes.

TJ has been talking about Archer for months, but we never could have imagined or hoped for a better transition to big-brotherhood. TJ woke to find Sara bringing him his morning milk, played with Matt for a few hours and then was handed off to Vince (Raminta's mother) without a hitch. I think Raminta and I missed him more than he missed us during our two days away. The highlight of the hospital stay was the morning after when Vince and TJ came for their introductions. I don't think anything I could describe would convey better than the pictures of pure joy and excitement on TJ's face when he met and held Archer for the first time.
Vince left this morning, so the four of us are on our own until next Thursday when my mother arrives for a week of newborn bliss. We're happy to share our little dudes with friends and family, so give a holler if you want to join us for social time and baby-staring contests.
If any of you want to do one small thing for us, mark a date or two on your calendar in the next 6-12months [maybe your birthday(s)], and when that date approaches/arrives, give us a holler to set up a date. Maybe we have a playdate or go on a short hike. Maybe we just hang out after the boys are asleep. The first year is the toughest, so we would love to use this chance to set ourselves up to maintain connections and social time that will start us on the path toward a lifetime of goodness.
